Outdoor sketching, Vosges ’24

Drawings from a larger piece called “Levende IJssel”

Using mostly scrap paper, notebooks, and ballpoint pens, I enjoy sketching with easily accessible materials. My beloved late grandfather has taught me to draw; an activity we have shared for many fond years.

Subjects I particularly enjoy capturing on paper include: mundane things laying around, different kinds of flora & fauna, and places I feel connected to.

Sketches of the latter can bring me back to memories, feelings, and persons in an instant. This way drawing forms a deeply affective activity to me.
